First Day of School:

Monday, September 13th, 2021

Official school hours: 8:00am - 2:20pm

(Doors open at 7:45 AM)

Covid-19 testing consent:

Every school will randomly test a sample of unvaccinated students, who have submitted consent for testing, at a threshold of ten percent of unvaccinated students per school population on a biweekly basis. (Pre-K and Kindergarten students are excluded). Please note that students must submit new consent for the 2021-22 school year either by returning a new COVID-19 testing consent form(Open external link) or by consenting via their NYC Schools Account to participate in the testing program in 2021-22. If consent exists from school year 20-21, that consent will be used until it expires on September 30. Forms and translations can be found on the family-facing site(Open external link).

For morning arrival:

For a safe and smooth transition on the first day of school, we ask that ONLY the children walk up the "Paw Path", located on Slosson Avenue, to enter the building. Stop and Drop will be available on Slosson Avenue for parents/guardians, beginning at 7:45am.

To add some excitement to our first day of school, we are asking students to wear shirts in a color specific to their grade level. This will not only make it easier to identify other students in the grade but will also add to the fun of the first day!

Please have your child come to school on September 13th in the following:

Pre-K and K: Tie Dye shirt

1st Grade: Yellow shirt

2nd grade: Blue shirt

3rd grade: Purple shirt

4th grade: Orange shirt

5th Grade: Green shirt

Kindergarten & Pre-K morning arrival:

Kindergarten students will report at 8:15am and meet their teachers in the schoolyard. Pre-K 3 and Pre-k 4 students have a separate drop off on Victory Boulevard and come through the side entrance.

NYC School Account:
Please make sure that you have your NYC School Account setup for your child. NYC Schools Account (NYCSA) is a web-based application that lets parents see their child’s academic and biographic information on any computer, phone, or tablet. The application is also translated into nine languages other than English.
All parent's/guardians must sign up for a "NYC School Account". If you already have your account set up, please log in and make sure the correct contact information is linked with the account.
Please see below for steps to get set up a account:
1. Parents and Guardians can now create a basic account online from any computer, phone, or tablet. This will allow families to begin receiving emergency notifications from the DOE. To do this they need to:
  • Visit this page from any web-enabled device and click “Create an Account.”
  • Enter their name and email address, create a password, and answer brief security questions to help retrieve the password in case they forget it.
2 Once a family has created a basic account, they must still verify their identity and relationship to a student in order to link that student to their account. You will need an "Account Creation Code letter" to complete this. Please email for the letter.
3. After they link their students, they can see grades, test scores, attendance, transportation information, test scores, and more.
